Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

#followcamfriday trying it's hardest to offset the gluttony with James Weingarten in Evergreen, Colorado.
This is another one of those trails that is best ridden with the absence of other users. Due to the flat nature of this descent, it is much more enjoyable without stopping 15 times and having to get back up to speed over and over again. This is best ridden in the rain, the dark, snow, or when it is below freezing. Getting a clean run down this one is unheard of and we were lucky to do just that. Alderfer Three Sisters delivering.

Barnum Park is firing nicely right now. This park has gone through it's phases of rideability over the last couple of years, but the crew out there has made this place work perfectly once again. These trails will always be unique, due to their proximity to the city and the deafening noise created by highway 6, just feet away from this legendary spot. You basically have to yell to have a conversation, but that is part of the fun and magic that makes this place special, and different from every other trail riding experience I have ever encountered. I love it. The jumps are not small. Kudos to the builders!

The Evergreen Mountain Trail is basically a 15ft wide highway of a descent. Much like all of the Front Range Trails, increased use due to COVID has widened the trail bed. If I am being honest, I actually prefer this style of riding, over tight featureless singletrack. Line choice is a beautiful thing, and erosion has done its part to make the rocks larger and more prevalent. I bet the crusty locals that have been riding this for 30 years are complaining about how beat up the trail is now, but I rather like it this way. There is something special about being able to ride different lines from top to bottom, swapping sides with your friends the entire way down the hill. It's a thinking man's trail now. Much love.

James Weingarten is never one to pass up a climbing challenge. Master of traction, lover of action, James prefers the path less traveled.

As I type these words, I am hanging out in Southern Utah. The weather in Colorado is still nice enough, but I have some exploring to do and some new trails to ride. The last couple of years have felt very similar with the decreased levels of travel and adventure due to the state of the world, and I am craving some new trails and the new experiences that these places can bring. I have 3 bikes in my van and a whole bunch of coffee. What will happen next?
