Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Gooseberry Mesa

#followcamfriday riding on the edge of a cliff and chasing daylight with Tito Tomasi at Gooseberry Mesa in Hurricane, UT
How is it that I have never ridden here before.... I was amazed how much fun we had, despite coming as close as possible to getting darked on. Plus those down-canyon views of Zion at sunset..... Mind melted.

The blue hour is real. Just after the sun sets, the sky emits the most wonderful blue hue, that compliments the soft lasting glow, so very well. I'm not trying to be all douchy-cinematic here but, would you just look at it!! Maybe it was the rock out here, but I have never seen the blue light so pronounced. What a wonderful afternoon to ride till dark. Couldn't have timed it better.

Gooseberry is basically one giant skate park, made out of sandstone. This is the Bartlett Wash of southern Utah. We definitely need to come back out here and line up some proper hucks to flat when we are not being chased by darkness. Bowls and lines for days! You could spend a lifetime out here, riding new lines and pumping around. Neat.

Tito is quite the artist. When we first met, he was traveling the world with his bike and drawing sketches along the way to fund some of the expense. His MTB inspired art is something to behold. Thanks for the sketch my friend, you are a legend.

The trip out to the point of the Mesa is mandatory! If you are afraid of heights, have someone blindfold you and drag you out there. The perspective from the point is unreal. You are basically looking into the valley where Rampage takes place and then into Zion. We sat there and soaked it all in before sprinting back to my van. Truly maximizing the day and our experience. This is the sort of thing that sticks out in my mind. Times to be remembered.

Stay tuned right here for more adventures from the road. Colorado is snowy and cold currently as I arrive home from this trip. I have a new bike to build. Oh the suspense. Where will FCF turn up next? Thanks for the good times Tito! Aloha.
