Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Faster Than Fast

1 Million mph through the woods on Monarch Pass. Hide your children, #followcamfriday all up in your dome.
Agate Creek. Haven't heard of it? Well, you aren't alone. This is the least ridden descent off of Monarch Pass. Most people are here to ride the Monarch Crest trail but for some reason, I prefer this one.

Maybe it's because this is the hardest downhill to get to. Maybe it's because the runout is relatively brutal. Brutal like bring your kayak and plastic pants. 25 knee-deep stream crossings might not appeal to everyone like it does to me. And then there is the fact that this dumps you on the Gunnison side of the pass.

I guess I just prefer my trails less traveled. Every trail off of the pass is absolutely world class. This one though.... The middle section is unlike anything I know of. You basically go 30mph for 4 minutes straight while trying to look as far ahead as possible. No pedals, no brakes, just hanging on and waiting for a downed tree to die on. We got lucky this time.

I always enjoy showing out of towners a Colorado classic. These flat-landers crushed it. Hopefully when I head to NZ in February, they can pay back the favor. Leonard is pinned. It was all I could do to hold his wheel on a trail he had never ridden before. The future looks bright.

I've ridden all over the world with Nate and Megan. They know a good trail when they see one. Needless to say, the stoke levels were high. Even if they had to wait for me at the bottom when I ruined my drivetrain and basically had to scooter kick the last 10 miles. Crossing a stream 25 times with no drivetrain makes for some wet feet. My shoes still smell... Where will #followcamfriday travel to next week? Stay tuned to find out.
