Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Riding Rainmaker chainless in the Trestle Bike Park

Jump in the train with myself and Dillon Lemarr as we shred his local trails in the Trestle Bike Park in Winter Park, Colorado. #followcamfriday laps with the boys. Special appearance by Krunk Shox.  Oh yeah, and Dillon doesn't have a chain..... More parts, more problems.
I can ride jump runs all day long. Dillon has this one on lock. All the scrubs, none of the chains. Drivetrains are overrated.

Nose bonks for days.

It's amazing how much speed you carry when you have to. Everyone should practice riding chainless once in a while. When I coached grom's back in the day, I would always make them do laps without a drivetrain. Full commitment. All in.

NEMBAfest 2017

NEMBAfest 2017 was an absolute blast. Definitely put this on your event calendar for next year. I rode all the bikes, met all the people, and drank all of the beers. A perfect vacation from the racer life that I am so accustomed to.
Maxxis sent me to NEMBAfest to hang out at the booth, do some riding and shoot some video. It was great to meet everyone and shred trail with a bunch of different folks. I shot a ton of video from my trip, so stay tuned right here for more FCF episodes.
I ran a tire giveaway this week to celebrate hitting the 50K subscriber mark on Youtube. The winners are announced in this week's FCF episode above. HUGE thanks to everyone for participating and leaving comments, and supporting my channel over the last year and a half. Thanks Maxxis!

Dacre Dunn doing his best to jump the chair lift. The bike park at Burke is so fun to ride. Trains with the boys was the norm for the weekend, followed by beer drinking of course.....

Dacre and Matt set up bikes for people all day long and then rode till dark. Ever wonder why Yeti makes sweet bikes? Here is your answer. Even after working all day, these guys are still frothing to ride. This ethos starts at the top and works its way into the final product. Passion.

Thanks to everyone who came buy the booth to day hello last weekend. Nice to meet everyone and share some stoke.

Beer is so very important. Fortunately, we were giving out Maxxis koozies. The conversation goes like this- "We only have a few koozies left...." "Can I trade you a beer?' ........ In the end, beers were shared, hands were kept warm and new friendships were made. Rad.

Smashing runs with Chris Boice in Angel Fire, New Mexico

Angel Fire has always held a special place in my heart as one of the best bike parks in the world. So many good memories over the last 12 years of riding there..... #followcamfriday DH laps with Chris Boice.
Angel Fire has been hosting racing for as long as I can remember, and was a big reason that I got so into downhill racing. The tracks from the early MSC days were the roughest of the year and I am delighted to say that this place is not getting any easier. Yes, there are some new berms in spots and some "flow" has been added, but it is still an absolute fist fight for most of it. Thank you for not sanitizing the trails, as is the current bike park trend. Yay rocks! Thank you AF trail crew!!!!

Chris is pinned. Good luck holding his wheel on his home trails.

I have raced here in the snow with cold hands many times. Time release moisture is rad!

Always pull up. The first section off of the chair is amazing. Hacking holes from the get-go. Brake bumps make me smile, take your smooth trails and skid the shit out of them. Call me when they are ready.

#followcamfriday live and direct from the Big Mountain Enduro race on June 9th in Eagle Colorado. Join myself and Dillon Lemarr for a practice run on Pool and Ice and Haymaker, stages 3 and 4 from this weekend's event. Thanks to the magic if the inter webs, this will go live as I am actually racing..... To get info about BME, go HERE. Our race series is top-notch.
This weekend's event is part of the GoPro Games, taking place in Vail, Colorado. As part of the Big Mountain Enduro series, we are racing 4 stages on Friday morning. People are always curious as to what an Enduro race track looks like, so here you go. Pool and Ice and Lower Haymaker will reward corner speed and fitness. Who will come out on top this weekend?

Grand Enduro | 49mph on a rock

6/5/2017

Put The Grand Enduro on your short list of races to attend in 2018. What a privilege it was to race some of the iconic trails in the Grand Valley. Huge props to the organizers and volunteers for pulling off a perfect event.
Here is a little throw back from a #followcamfriday episode that I produced with Noah Sears about 6 months ago on The Ribbon. After posting the video, people were asking me how fast we were actually going..... For some reason, I wasn't running my Garmin and I really had no idea. Or, maybe I just didn't really want to know.....
Picture
Well, there's the answer. The clock doesn't lie. The Ribbon would be stage 1 of the Grand Enduro and the promoters had the brilliant idea to put a radar gun in the fastest bit. Three of us tied for 49mph. Let me be clear in saying that the slightest mistake would have surely result in death..... I love bike racing! More of this please! My goal for the weekend was to win the top speed challenge. Stage two was the Gunny descent, followed up by Free Lunch, Pucker up, to Moto. Amazing tracks. So nice to race some proper tech. And then we drank beer and ate tacos......
Picture
Fine racing gents! Noah worked his ass off to make this event work out, glad to se him on the box. Danimal was able to make it to the bottom without destroying his bike!

Chili Dog | Glorieta, New Mexico

Picking up where we left off in last week's episode with some more enduro race course action. #followcamfriday from last weekend's Big Mountain Enduro event in Glorieta, New Mexico. Stay tuned till the end for some rock-drop carnage. Drink beer and yell at your friends!
Chili Dog was stage 4 from last weekend's BME race. Join the party with Krunk and I as we race daylight on this amazing section of trail. The bottom of this trail finishes with a 5ft rock huck to flat, that would ruin a perfect run and any chance for a reasonable result. The heckling was all-time. Beer helps this situation.  This stage was a racer favorite!

When in doubt, wall-ride it out..... Krunk is pinned!
