Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Jagged Axe Trail | Glorieta, New Mexico

#followcamfriday, live and direct, from New Mexico. Join the party with Krunk and I as we ride Jagged Axe.
Everyone always asks what an enduro race track looks like. Well, here is stage 3 from this weekend's BME event in Glorieta, New Mexico. Rocks on rocks on rocks with Krunk Shox leading the charge. This trail is technical and loose... Who will take this one on Saturday? Place your bets race fans.

This rock pinch is sweet. If you screw it up, you will grind all of the skin off of your body..... Perfect.

Riding Jackson's with Chris Boice and Kyle Mears

I know that I say this all of the time, but Jackson's is definitely one of my favorite sections in Moab. #followcamfriday on the edge of a cliff in Utah with the boys. As per usual, don't fall left.
This represents the longest riding video I have made to date. We were just having too much fun to omit any of the shenanigans here. The climb up Amasa Back is highly entertaining and we couldn't pass up a short session at the "super 8 drop". The actual descent starts at roughly the 3:40 mark if you have no interest in uphilling antics...... Oh, and Chris almost dies at the 6 minute mark, so maybe watch that bit too....

Chris and I were in town to race the Enduro Cup event at Klondike Bluff. No event weekend is complete without some extra curricular riding. I mean... how could you not?   Would you just look at it! Kyle getting that Insta-banger. @mearsofmoab

What you can't tell from this photo is that Chris is almost dying. If you look closely, you can see his foot, disconnected from the pedal after smashing that rock... He almost fell off of that cliff. Fortunately, Chris is certified. Be like Chris, don't fall off cliffs.

The most tech bit of the descent. Can you clean it?

What you lookin' at?  Snacks please.

Riding Dave's in Moab

Dave's is one of the few "DH" trails in Moab. Although most of the trails in the area are rocky, this one is especially violent. Join myself and Mr. Mears as we try to break our bikes on Dave's. #followcamfriday
Dave's is a short pedal from town and is easy to do laps on. I enjoy this in the afternoon #lightbro hour. Make sure you stop into Milt's for a malt between laps....  This was filmed during Moab Car Show week, so we may have had some cocktails and heckled the drivers a little bit.... Burnouts all around.

Make sure you spend some time at the Moab BMX park. Trail bike friendly jumps.

One mistake and you will end up in town. Don't crash into town.....

Plymouth Mountain Trail | Deer Creek Park

After last week's #followcamfriday episode from Longhorn, I think I have found a better Front Range descent.... Thoughts? What is your favorite? Join myself and James Weingarten as we try to break our wheels.
The Plymouth Mountain trail is a challenge going up or down. Can anyone out there clean the "wall" section on the way up? I almost got it first try but need to go back for redemption.  This was my first time riding in this area and I was amazed with the rock and steepness in general. We rode both of the upper loops and ended with one of the roughest, high-speed descents in Denver. So good! My wheels didn't even break..... Next time.

I have been riding with James for at least 10 years. He possesses more skill in his pinky finger than I have in my entire body. 100 meter manual in the trees.... On lock.

We call Mr. Weingarten "jumpin Jamie" Just watch the video, to witness the yank. Always, always, for the love of god, jump everything!    *Proper technique.
