Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

White Ranch | Golden, Colorado

Is Longhorn the best descent in the front range? Got a better one? Join my coach, Dee Tidwell for an after work special at White Ranch. #followcamfriday Does your coach even ride bro? Witness the fitness.
Of all the descents to ride in the Front Range, this may be the most rewarding. We also did a loop on Mustang to double the pleasure. A sprinkling of rain the night before make for perfect dirt on a lovely afternoon in Golden. Got to love spring in Colorado. Get it before its blown out!

Look how serious Dee looks here. This is a man who is ready to slay some trail. This was Dee's maiden voyage on his new Yeti 5.5 and needless to say, he was fired up. New bike day only comes once in a great while.

This is my fourth season training with Dee and his programs have helped my racing and riding immensely. Now when I crash, I don't always have to go to the hospital... But seriously, Dee knows what's up and can certainly ride a bike. If you need a program, this is a good place to start- FITNESS!

Walker Ranch | Boulder, Colorado

Walker Ranch, just outside of Boulder, Colorado offers some interesting and technical trail riding. Join the party as I grab a before-work loop on the Wednesday morning Fix Bike Shop group ride. #followcamfriday accept no substitute.
There are a few different ways to ride Walker. We opted to park at the lower trail head and begin by descending to the bottom of the "hike a bike" section. We then proceeded to climb to the next high point and then descend right back down what we had just climbed. Back up again and then completing the loop. This basically buys you extra climb and you get all three of the good descents. In total, doing it like this makes for a 12 mile endeavor with a reasonable amount of vert. Perfect for a before or after work special if you ask me.

Austin is in the air more than on the ground. Take note people, this is the correct way to ride your mountain bike. Always be pulling up....

Valmont Dirt Jumps

Mountain Biking the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colorado with Austin and Wiley. #followcamfriday Hit the jump.
Valmont opened in June of 2011 as a town sanctioned, public bike park. The Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance was instrumental in seeing this project become a reality for Boulder cyclists. This was my first visit to the park in about 5 years, and its upkeep and variety are impressive. Valmont has lines for all abilities, including pump tracks, dirt jumps, slalom track and Slopestyle lines. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. What a sweet time to be growing up as a mountain biker.

Who do you think won this race? Better watch the video and find out.....

Corona De Loma in Phoenix, AZ

Riding Corona De Loma in Phoenix with Chris Mandell. #followcamfriday through the rocks and cactus. As per usual, dont fall right.
South Mountain offers amazing riding, just minutes from the city. The only other place I have been that offers trails so close to a giant metropolis is Santiago, Chile. Strangely enough, the terrain is very similar to Santiago, loose, rough and plenty of cactus to keep you honest.

Corona De Loma is probably my favorite section of trail in the park. This is not everyone's cup of tea, and it is far from a flow trail. If you are looking for raw and scrappy, this is where you want to be. This section gets considerably less traffic than say National, and is less manicured in general. Definitely worth a lap or two.
