Is blogging still a thing?

So there I was, drinking beer and looking at the internet. What ever happened to my blog..... I don't think people even realize that I race mountain bikes for a living. I think people know me as that guy who posts weekly POV videos on YouTube about riding on the edge of some scary cliff in the desert. I am a Vlogger now, do I really need a blog? Well, after a two-year hiatus, I just turned it back on because it made me smile. Let me know what you guys think. Times were simpler then. More projects, more problems. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Alpine Singletrack at 13'000ft

#followcamfriday trying not to fall off the mountain with Krunk Shox. If you ain't hiking, you ain't biking. Alpine Singletrack nirvana.
I have been posting a bunch of bike-park riding lately. As much as I love that style of riding, this is where I feel the most motivated and why I still ride bikes. Big mountains, hard riding, exposure, all of the challenges.

Jones Pass is something to behold. The route we chose took us on an amazing section of the Continental Divide Trail and ended in Herman Gulch. We didn't see a human until we got to Herman Gulch, which is easily accessible form I70. How refreshing.

Now I certainly do realize that this is not everyone's idea of fun. It's hard. There will be hiking. You may have to cross a sketchy snow field where one slip will end your day in a pile of rocks at the bottom. But, if you have the fitness and determination for this sort of thing, the trail is absolutely world-class. Basically, why I get out of bed in the morning. Krunk is on the same program.

Some of the finest alpine singletrack that I have ever ridden. Period. If you look closely, you can see the ribbon of singletrack, traversing the ridge for miles. As it should be. The above tree-line section is 95% rideable and more than worth the effort involved with getting up there. This route tops out at 13'200 and passes ofer some of the most beautiful terrain I have seen.

Seriously, would you just look at it. When people dream of mountain biking, I suspect this is what they have in their heads. Alpine bliss. Rocks, flowers, trail perfection.

Krunk Shox is special. Not everyone is okay with this sort of thing. I mean, you could get hurt.... Fortunately, Krunk has no fucks to give and keeps the levels where they need to be. He is into fitness and can manage his life. Just the right blend of characteristics to take on this adventure.

Look, we are riding on snow without fat bikes... Crazy, I know. If you need me, I'll be up here, breathing through a straw. My happy place.

Awesome FCF this week! Jones Pass. Looks like it was a tough, but sick ride! Nice speed and control through Herman Gulch, looked rough. I'd like to know that stats, miles, elevation gain, total time and ride time, etc.. Keep up the great footage, I love Fridays!!

Hey Adam, thanks for watching my video. I didn't track the stats on this one. If you check out Trailforks or MtbProject, this route is well documented. Definitely give this one a rip if you are in the area, so good!
